The Sacrament of Holy Orders
“Jesus…said to [the eleven Apostles], ‘All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.’”
Matthew 28:18-20

What is the Sacrament of Holy Orders?
“Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry. It includes three degrees: episcopate, presbyterate, and diaconate” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 1536).

A Prayer for Vocations
Father, You so loved the world that in the fullness of time
You sent Your only Son, Jesus, to be our Savior.
We now ask You, the Master of the Harvest, to send workers into the harvest.
For the harvest is great, but the workers are few.
Bless the vineyard of the world with priest and religious
who will teach in Your Son's name, walk in His footsteps,
and break bread in His memory. Amen.
