Pastoral Care

Healing, Outreach, Advocacy

The USCCB's document on The Ministry of Pastoral Care states that “pastoral care is a compassionate presence in imitation of Jesus' care of people, especially those who were hurting and in need. Pastoral care is most fundamentally a relationship—a ministry of compassionate presence…”

At Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, we strive to put the loving heart of Jesus in action through our Pastoral Care Ministries.  Should you find yourself, a family member, or another person to be in need of our attention, please explore below our parish’s various Healing or Outreach & Advocacy initiatives

Healing Ministries

Through our Healing Ministries, people can find various ways to find (or offer) help and assistance:

Outreach Ministries

Through our Outreach & Advocacy Ministries, parishioners can find ways to help the community:

Guardian Angel Financial Assistance Ministry

“...You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:39

At any point, each of us may need the help of a "Guardian Angel.  The Guardian Angel Fund was created to assist parishioners as well as members of the local community with one-time financial needs, such as utilities, a portion of rent, and some medical expenses.  100% of Guardian Angel funds go toward these and similar forms of help to those in need.

In addition to funds, volunteers are needed to review assistance requests under the supervision of parish staff.  Experience in social work and/or counseling is helpful for this ministry.  Serve as a “Guardian Angel” and encounter the face of Christ in the people this ministry serves.

“‘For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’

Then the righteous will answer him and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’

And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’”
