Through this ministry couples who have been married for at least three years help to prepare engaged couples who are planning to receive the Sacrament of Marriage. This approach to marriage preparation allows a married couple to make a difference by giving other couples the strong start they need to have a successful marriage. Meetings are held in the home of the married couple.
Requirements for Pre-Cana Sponsor Couples: Must be a married couple and both must want to participate in the program. Married for at least three to five years. Couple should regularly participate at Mass/Liturgy. Should be active in the life of the parish. Exhibit qualities of a healthy/good marriage relationship. Be open to being formed in the process and willing to follow the directions of Coordinator/Director. Must meet all requirements of Safe Environment. Complete interview process with Coordinator and/or Pastor.
Training Requirements A one-day training seminar presented by the Diocese is required. Additional training may be made available periodically. Safe Environment training and requirements must be satisfied.
