The Diocese of Dallas permits pastors to confirm adults, who have not been confirmed but who otherwise have been through faith formation. This “out of sequence” celebration of Confirmation is oftentimes due to family moves, shifting policies regarding the age of reception of Confirmation, and occasionally bureaucratic whim (missed a retreat). With Pentecost being on the weekend of June 4-5, at Our Lady of Angels, we will be having Confirmation of adults at least at the 11:00 am Mass (June 5). There will be a session for unconfirmed adults on Saturday, May 14 at 10:00 am in the Conference Room in the Education Formation Building. At that time we will review the sacramental theology of Confirmation and the rite of Confirmation as it will be celebrated on June 5. If you are a Catholic adult who has not been confirmed to date, you can do so this coming Pentecost. You will need to bring to the May 14 meeting a copy of your baptismal certificate (or record of profession of faith) as well as the name of whom you wish to be your sponsor for this sacrament.
