"Love God, Embrace All People, Share the Gospel Joyfully."
For Our Lady of Angels to successfully live out our Mission Statement, it is essential that all members of our parish engage in our mission. For the past year and a half there have been quarterly meetings to search out ways to engage more parishionbers in the ministries of the parish and to implement ideas to do so. We ask that you prayfully consider attending one of our LES meeting when they are held and contributing your ideas to successfully live out our mission.

Parish Pastoral Council
The mission of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) is to assist the Pastor as a consultative body and to prayerfully discern the priorities and goals of the community according to the Parish Mission and Vision Statements. Council members assist the pastor by understanding the needs of the parish community and formulating long and short-term goals of the parish into a Parish Pastoral Plan. These goals become focus areas for parish development and published as our Parish Pastoral Plan.
The PPC meets with Monsignor Bell the first Tuesday of each month. We conducted the Parish Assembly at the end of January after two of the Masses. We are currently reworking the Pastoral Plan (a document that reflects the goals of the parish) to better reflect the new mission to Love God, Embrace all People and Share the Gospel Joyfully. We will be seeking new members for the PPC as some roll off the council in June. Please let Krissy Sartor know if you are interested in serving on this council.
Parish Finance Council
The Parish Finance Council serves as an advisory and oversight board for the pastor regarding the financial management of the parish. The PFC meets on a monthly basis and reviews all finances of the parish and advises the pastor on management of parish funds, banking arrangements, investments and fund raising. The PFC has the responsibility to review and approve annual budgets and suggest ways to improve the financial wellbeing of the parish. Present members are Chuck Miller (Chairman), Gordon Allen, Phil Garcia, Darrell Hale, Maria Trayer, Joan Toplicar, and John Stromp. Members serve a three-year term. Key initiatives at this time are replacement of HVAC in Worship Center and roof replacement in the Education and Faith Formation Building. We are also focused on building a reserve fund for future unexpected parish expenses. Contact Chuck Miller for more information about this council.
Liturgy Committee
The Liturgy Committee advises and assists the pastor in preparing the liturgies held at Our Lady of Angels. Its purpose is to plan our liturgical celebrations in such a way that they lead to a conscious, active, and full participation of the faithful both in mind and body. The committee includes the pastor, deacons and heads of all parish liturgical ministries, including music, lectors, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, ushers, welcome ministers, sacristans, arts and environment, preparation of the Mass Book, and other requirements for Mass. The committee also assists the pastor in planning seasonal liturgies, including the devotional practices of Lent (Stations of the Cross, Good Friday devotionals, etc.), the liturgies of Holy Week, and special celebrations. In addition, Liturgy Committee helps shape parish liturgical policies, plans formation and education of liturgical ministers, and evaluates past liturgies.
Parish Leadership Team
The parish leadership team exists to assist the pastor in managing the parish which involves everything from strategic decisions and people management to operations and finances. The PLT is not and advisory or oversight body, like the parish or finance council. It is an operating body that meets weekly to look at the overall health of the parish and to aid the pastor in implementing the decisions of the team. The team members are Msgr. Bell, Betty Picard, Sue Parker, Greg Pinkstaff and Greg Fisher.
Parish Outreach Ministry
A grass roots effort has been made to establish monthly service projects. The LES workgroup supports these efforts and emphasizes the effectiveness of service as an avenue to engage our parishioners. The third step of our mission statement at OLA is to “share the Gospel joyfully”. Serving others is key to effectively sharing this good news. Other future service opportunities include Habitat for Humanity, the Bella House and a parish wide service day at OLA.
Small Group Faith Sharing
OLA hosted a parish wide Bible study during lent 2018. About 124 people attended. From that there are about a dozen small groups that meet in host homes. There is a current opportunity to join an existing group or start a small group. If anyone wishes to start a small group, Rosemary Crocker is the church office contact. She will recommend or can design a Bible Study for any group, based on their needs and desires for their group.
