Small faith groups are now forming at Our Lady of Angels parish!
What is a small faith group?
Small faith-sharing groups allow us to share our faith with others and to grow together in community through prayer, shared experiences, and explorations of faith. Groups typically meet in someone's home and can vary in size, usually about 6-12 members.
When will groups meet?
That will be up to you and your group! We will try to group people by availability and location, but meeting times are often flexible within groups. Most groups will choose to meet monthly; others may choose to meet weekly for one month, several times a year. With our busy schedules, we try to accommodate each other as much as possible. Meetings usually last about 90 minutes plus 30 minutes of social time/snacks, or more social time if your group decides that. Some groups keep it simple throughout the year, but share a meal during the holidays and maybe have a cookout in the summer.
What will we talk about?
Initially, discussions will be centered on the weekly Scripture readings and how they relate to our lives and our relationship with God. Groups may decide later to dive into a particular topic, and the parish will make available a wide range of studies, from Scripture to Spirituality to living as a Catholic family. Occasionally, all small groups will discuss one topic at the same time, and we may even come together as a large group, like we did during Lent with Speak in the Light.
Are children included in the discussions?
Some groups will include families with children, and some will be adults only. You can state your preference on the sign-up form.
