In observing Domestic Violence Awareness Month for October, the Diocese of Dallas, Office of Lay Formation and Family Ministries cordially invites you to join us in an educational and informative session with professional counselors/therapists, from our community. November 1st the the Solemnity of All Saints. It is a Holy Day of Obligation in the Roman Catholic (or Latin Rite) Church in universal law. However, with the approval of the Holy See, in particular law for the United States the obligation is lifted (not observed) when the Solemnity falls on a Saturday or a Monday (as it does this year). That is why there is only one Mass scheduled this year on November 1st. November 2nd is the Solemnity of All Souls. It is not a Holy Day of Obligation in the Roman Catholic Church, because it is not legislated as such.
A holiday Food Drive supporting the Allen Community Outreach (ACO) will be held in the OLA parking lot on Saturday, November 6 from 8:00 am - noon. Wheelchair Mission Sunday is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 13044 and Our Lady of Angels. Worldwide estimates show that over 100 million children, teens, and adults lack mobility due to birth defects, war, disease, accidents, natural disasters or advanced age. They need a wheelchair and cannot afford one. Learn how $150 can sponsor and deliver a free wheelchair to someone in need and help answer the prayers of entire families. The KCs Council 13044 invite you and your family to a Car & Bike Show on November 13 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on the OLA parking lot. You will get a chance to see pre-1960, 1960-1990, 1991 & newer cars and motorcycles. Judging begins at 1:00 pm. There is a participant entry fee of $10/vehicle. Spectators can make a donation.
